ArdhiSasa, Digital Land Information System in Brief!

On April 27, 2021, Ardhisasa the new digital land information management system was unveiled. This was the beginning of a new era of digital land transaction processes for Kenya. The process kickstarted in Nairobi and is to be deployed to other parts of the country.

ArdhiSasa as it has been dubbed is an online platform that allows citizens, other stakeholders and interested parties to interact with land information held and processes undertaken by Government. Jointly the ministry of Land and Physical Planning (MoLPP) and the National Land Commission (NLC) and key partners in Government for over 3 years developed Ardhisasa. Ardhisasa is projected to increase the efficiency land transaction process and security(to a great deal ) of land records. Ardhisasa will also reduce the fraud involved in land transactions.

The platform allows the lodgment of various services which are under seven main groups, Land Registration, Land registration, physical planning, survey & mapping, valuation, adjudication & settlement and National land commission.

Ardhisasa allows for individual registration and Company registration. It is important to note that the platform is open to all. Primary requirements for individual registration are; a Kenyan ID and an active phone number to receive the OTP (One-Time PIN)code. On the Individual registration, the process is quite straightforward. The user interface is quite seamless and brilliant too. Besides lodging the services one can access their property, appointments and tickets for the open, ongoing and closed process.

All the processes services lodged will be handled and responded through it. Subsequently, as the program continues to be rolled out to other counties it is anticipated to improve service delivery. This is a great step for Kenya without a doubt!

  1. This is a positive move towards the right direction. Land sector in Kenya has so far remained behind in a generation where everything is now getting digitised. Hongera MoLPP
